Did You Know

WEDDING DAYS
In English tradition, Wednesday is considered the best day to marry,
although Monday is wealth and Tuesday is for health Saturday is the
unluckiest wedding day, according  to English folklore. Funny—it is the
most popular day of the week to marry

RAIN
Rain on your wedding day is actually considered good luck according to
Hindu tradition

RINGS
Engagement and wedding rings are worn on the fourth finger of the left
hand, because it was once thought that a vein in that finger led directly to
the heart

OLD & BLUE
Brides carry or wear something old on their wedding day to symbolize
continuity with the past. The something blue in a bridal ensemble,
symbolizes purity, fidelity and love.

POSITIONING
The bride stands to the left of the groom in a Christian ceremony,
because in bygone days, the groom needed his right hand free to fight off
other suitors.

FLOWERGIRLS
Flower girls traditionally threw petals in the bride’s path to lead her to a
sweet plentiful future.

THE KISS
A marriage ceremony normally ends with a kiss, as in ancient Rome, a
kiss was a legal bond that sealed contracts, and marriage was seen as a
contract.

.
HONEYMOON
The first honeymoons comprised of grooms taking their brides somewhere
hidden, where relatives and villagers could not find them. There they
stayed for one moon phase and drank mead, a wine made from honey, to
make them more amorous. Thus the word “honeymoon” was born
DRESS STYLES -
There are five basic wedding dress styles.

A-Line or Princess: Fitted in the body, then flows out toward
the ground.

Ball Gown: Fitted in the body with a full skirt.

Mermaid: Contours the body from the chest to knee, then
flows to hem.

Sheath or Column: Straight, form-fitted from the shoulders
to the hem.

Empire: Raised waist line sits below the bust. Dress flows
down to hem

DRESS STYLES AND BODY TYPES -
Different dress styles suit different body types. Please note
that a sheath dress, which hugs every curve, would not
flatter a full-figured woman.

A ballgown, which bells at the bottom, might overwhelm a
petite woman’s figure.
